CARBOGEN AMCIS has launched SPRINT, a dedicated approach to early-phase drug substance development designed to deliver faster, more efficient progression to clinical phases without compromising scientific rigour.

As pressure on early development continues to mount, with tighter timelines, milestone-driven funding models and growing complexity, SPRINT has been designed to provide a more focused, fit-for-purpose way of working.

SPRINT combines multidisciplinary expertise with agile execution to support early-phase programmes through activities such as route scouting, process development and early Good Manufacturing Practice phases readiness. It is intended for biotech and pharmaceutical companies seeking a partner that can act as an extension of their team, providing clear guidance, rapid decision-making and aligned execution from the outset. By focusing on what is truly required at this stage, it avoids unnecessary complexity while maintaining full compliance and uncompromised safety standards.

By bringing experience from later development stages into the earliest phases, SPRINT helps anticipate future requirements, reduce rework and enable more reliable progression through key development milestones.

“SPRINT builds on CARBOGEN AMCIS’ long-standing expertise in early-phase development, combining scientific excellence with a strong track record of efficient delivery,” said Marc Lanz, Senior Head of Innovation. “We know how to solve complex challenges early and how to do it right the first time, with long-term success in mind.”

“Early-phase development requires more than speed; it requires smart decisions,” added Martin Althaus, Manager PR&D. “With this approach, we bring later-stage experience into the earliest phases, enabling fast, reliable and truly phase appropriate solutions.”

SPRINT is now available as part of CARBOGEN AMCIS’ Drug Substance services.

Tecan accelerates data-driven lab journey with agentic AI developments powered by NVIDIA

Tecan has announced the integration of Agentic artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities into its lab analytics platform Introspect, leveraging NVIDIA BioNeMo Agent Toolkit. The NVIDIA BioNeMo Agent Toolkit enables AI agents to access scientific AI capabilities directly within the Introspect platform, helping laboratories to optimise operations. Agentic AI will allow laboratories to move beyond traditional monitoring and reactive troubleshooting towards proactive actions that help prevent issues before they impact performance, quality or scientific outcomes. Early access to the enhanced Introspect platform is available, with applications focused on pharmaceutical, biotechnology and clinical laboratory environments. A milestone in the collaboration announced in March 2026, this Agentic AI development demonstrates advancement of Tecan and NVIDIA’s shared vision of enabling data-driven laboratories with AI-powered platforms designed to accelerate scientific discovery and improve laboratory productivity. Agentic

AI introduces a new paradigm for laboratory operations. Rather than identifying problems after they occur, intelligent agents can continuously analyse laboratory data, workflows and system performance to uncover hidden patterns that limit throughput, constrain scalability or reduce operational efficiency.

Neuland to open $20m dedicated Process Development facility with integrated kilo labs in Hyderabad

Neuland Laboratories will open a dedicated process development laboratory and integrated kilo lab at its Genome Valley campus in Hyderabad. The new 135,000 sq ft facility will see $20m invested in a specialist fit-out and be operationalised in phases, with full completion expected by October 2026. Significantly, it has been designed as a purpose-built integrated scale-up laboratory dedicated exclusively to process development. Once completed, the site will take Neuland’s process development team to more than 500 scientists, making it one of the largest scale-up workforces in India. Unlike many contract development manufacturing organisations, where process development laboratories may also support discovery or other mixed-use workstreams, the new facility has been designed exclusively for process development. It will also integrate non-Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) kilo labs, allowing scientists to evaluate process performance at larger scales without transferring work to separate sites or competing for access to GMP capacity. This enables teams to continue process optimisation while generating real-time scale-up data in parallel.

Safety without compromise: IKA launches the next evolution of magnetic stirring

IKA launched the next generation of its magnetic stirrer line, introducing the RCT basic and RET basic models built around the company's new ‘Integrated Safety’ concept and 100% tested via its automated RoboMAG production line. The new stirrers set a global standard for lab protection by combining safety features such as an adjustable independent safety circuit, hot plate warnings, self-monitoring, and continuous stirring during error conditions with advanced digital connectivity including USB-C, RS232, Wi-Fi, Ethernet and cloud integration via the IKA Lab Assistant App. With 800W of heating power, stirring speeds up to 1,700 rpm, and the smallest footprint on the market, the new generation is designed to improve safety, efficiency and ergonomics across modern lab workflows.

SL Laser strengthens efficiency and precision in metalworking with advanced laser projection technology

SL Laser expands the role of laser projection technology in the metal industry with solutions designed to improve positioning accuracy, reduce setup times and eliminate manual production errors. For decades, laser projectors such as the ProDirector 7 have been successfully integrated into industrial manufacturing environments, supporting both large-scale production facilities and metalworking workshops. Today, manufacturers face increasing pressure to improve productivity while maintaining consistent quality standards. SL Laser addressed these requirements with projection systems that transfer CAD-based positioning data directly onto work surfaces, welding tables and assemblies in a true 1:1 scale. This allows workers to position components precisely without templates, manual measurements or time-consuming calibration processes.

Thermoelectric coolers for optical transceivers

P&N Europe GmbH provides compact thermoelectric coolers for optical transceiver assemblies, helping stabilise laser performance in high-speed data centre and telecom networks where space, power efficiency and reliability are critical. Optical transceivers require cooling solutions with high thermal performance in very limited space. P&N Europe GmbH supplies compact thermoelectric coolers designed for integration into demanding optical assemblies, including TOSA and other laser package applications. The TEC design must balance cooling capacity, electrical efficiency, footprint, height, mechanical integration and thermal path optimisation. For this reason, P&N supports customers with application-specific solutions that can be adapted to the available package geometry and the required heat load.

MattenPlant expands into pharmaceutical water solutions with Southeast Asia's first locally manufactured cold WFI system at SIWW 2026

MattenPlant announced the launch of its Pharmaceutical Water for Injection (Cold WFI) initiative, bringing Southeast Asia’s first membrane technology-based Cold WFI system to market. Pharmaceutical manufacturers, engineering consultants and industry stakeholders were invited to learn more at Matten's Booth B2-D20 at the Singapore International Water Week 2026 (SIWW 2026). The launch marked Matten’s strategic expansion into pharmaceutical water systems, building on its established track record of serving the food and beverage and pharmaceutical sectors, where hygienic system design and Good Manufacturing Practice compliance are baseline requirements. It comes as pharmaceutical manufacturing investments continue to grow across Southeast Asia, driving demand for compliant water infrastructure that can be deployed, serviced and upgraded closer to the point of use. The initiative enables pharmaceutical manufacturers to access locally assembled Cold WFI systems backed by regional engineering and service support.
